JAKE WORTHINGTON’S RUN IN WITH THE LAW: “IT AIN’T THE WHISKEY”

April 25, 2025

FAN-FAVORITE SONG AMASSED 25+ MILLION PRE-RELEASE LISTENS

ON TOUR WITH ZACH TOP AND JON PARDI

NASHVILLE, TENN. – Big Loud Texas country traditionalist Jake Worthington today releases “It Ain’t The Whiskey,” the pure country toe-tapper recounting a tongue-and-cheek run in with the law that fans have been fervently asking for. Racking up over 25 million pre-release listens across the viral clips of Worthington teasing the track.

“I tend to write songs from the research department,” shares Worthington. “First year I was married me and my wife found ourselves in the back of a cop car. That’s what this one’s about.”

Written alongside Will Banister, Jeff Hyde and Roger Springer, “It Ain’t The Whiskey” is Worthington at his best with “pure Texas drawl” (Billboard) and “signature country-as-cornbread charm” (MusicRow) defending his innocence: It ain’t the whiskey it’s the woman by my side…

Last night we’s headed home ’bout a quarter ’til ten

I guess I swerved just a little where the road didn’t bend

I didn’t see the law but the law saw me

I heard “I represent the state of Tennessee”

Listen to “It Ain’t The Whiskey” here.

Proving his pedigree as a “neo-traditional country prodigy” (Holler), the new song follows recent collaborations with legendary hall-of-famer Marty Stuart – “I’m The One” – and superstar Miranda Lambert, “Hello Shitty Day.” The latter written by songwriting giants Dean Dillon, Jessie Jo Dillon, Jesse Frasure and Lambert.

Captivating the masses with his honky-tonk stylings, Worthington will continue to bring two-step anthems to venues across the country. He will be supporting Zach Top throughout the spring with festival and headline dates in the summer followed by Jon Pardi’s Honkytonk Hollywood Tour in the fall.
